Our Mission

Angler's Xstream's  mission is to offer quality fly fishing products and outstanding service to accommodate anglers of all experience levels.  We are also committed to community involvement, fishery conservation, and furthering the sport of fly fishing.

"Angler's Xstream ", which opened on May 27, 2000, is owned by Richard (Rich) Beckwith and his wife, Sonya.  He was born and raised in Parkersburg, WV, and worked for the U. S. Treasury Department at the Bureau of the Public Debt for 32 years prior to retirement in March 2007.

The impetus for opening a fly-fishing shop is Rich's love for the sport and the fact that he has been fly-fishing for the past 25 years. After a lot of careful research and many discussions with fishermen across the country, Rich was convinced that he wanted to be part of the Orvis program.

The store is capably managed by David Carpenter, who also happens to be a Parkersburg native. Dave has an in-depth knowledge of hunting and fishing equipment and techniques.  Whether you're a beginning fisherman or experienced in the sport, Dave can provide expert fishing advice. He believes in the Orvis products and is always eager to help customers find exactly the right equipment they need to catch the "big ones"!

The store is located in South Parkersburg on Camden Avenue across from Papa John's.  Please stop by and say hi!
